About American Bridle Bit

In business since 1988, American Bridle Bit is dedicated to improving the communication between horse and rider which in turn improves the horses' lives.  We are committed to producing the very best horse related products available in the world.

The reason I started my pursuit of a better way to communicate with my horse is because when I was in the show ring riding one handed with a conventional bit, the ques to the horse where the opposite of the way he was trained. The outside rein was pulling in the wrong direction while turning or spinning. That just isn't fair to the horse as well as forcing the nose to go in the wrong direction and the inside shoulder to drop in.
With conventional bits every time we ride the horse one handed, we untrain the horse, and we've been doing it wrong for to many years. It took me seven years of design and testing before I was finally satisfied that I had created the very best bridle bit in the world. One that works correctly, has an adjustable width so it fits every horse properly, never applies pressure to the horse's tongue or palate, and guides the horse with pressure, NOT PAIN! A bit that took into account the horse's perspective.

This is accomplished by designing HUMANE bridle bits which are made of only the finest materials, are comfortable for the horse to wear, never develop pinch gaps and provide easy to understand signals to the horse that are consistent with the way the horse was trained. By doing so, we remove confusion and discomfort for the horse. We have bits available that even compensate for rider error.

My bits where never designed for the expert rider. They are designed for the horse’s benefit.
Consider this; If  10% ( and I’m being generous ) of the people who ride horses are real horsemen. That means  90 out of every 100 horses will, to some degree , suffer the pain of  bad hands, poor timing, bad balance, out of rhythm riding, improperly fitted bits etc. This is caused by one or more of the following; a general lack of knowledge, skill, ability or in some cases a lack caring on the part of the rider.  I don’t believe most of these people intend to do the damage they do. Maybe it’s because of a lack of time, desire, ability, or maybe it’s just not that important to them. They just want to “ride” a horse.
That having been said, Why should the horses have to pay the price ?
