Have someone hold your snaffle bit by the rings, then place your hand around the mouth piece much like the horse's mouth. Now pull.......Is that what you really want to do to your horse's mouth?
One way to get a horse to open it's mouth is to squeeze the lower jaw. So if you want your horse to open it's mouth...use a broken or jointed mouth piece bit. A shanked bit such as a Tom Thumb is even worse!
  Remember that it's a horses' instinctis to flee from danger. Pain induces fear and fear induces flight. So if your broken mouth piece snaffle bit is too harsh you will get the opposite effect of what you were expecting. The more pain you inflect, the more fear. The more fear in your horse, the more flight or the faster he will run.

    Easy Adjustable Width
   What are the odds that you can walk into a tack shop and buy a bit that fits YOUR Horse correctly? Pretty slim. Horses, like people, are all different. One size does not fit all!   An improperly fitted bit can cause many head, mouth, attitude and control problems.
         Our Humane bits have corrected this problem with their adjustable width; by SIMPLY holding the sides of the bit between the palms of your hands and rotating the port with your thumb and forefinger for a perfect fit to Your Horse.

     The design of the of our bits allows the horse to position the port where it is the most comfortable for that particular horse but will NOT allow the horse to change the width.
  The port can NOT be rotated while it is in the horse's mouth.  The width can only be changed when the bit is OUT of the horse's mouth.
It's like having a custom made bit for every horse.

   Safe and comfortable Self-Aligning Floating Port
   With a conventional bit, the port is in a fixed position which is uncomfortable for many horses. When a conventional bit over-rotates the port applies pressure on the horse's tongue, sometimes to the point of cutting it. Some conventional bits, including snaffle or broken mouth piece bits, also apply pressure to the roof of the horse's mouth. This can be uncomfortable for the horse and cause the mouth gaping which we've all seen. All broken or jointed mouth piece bits use a Nut-Cracker action which is totally unfair to the horse!
                           Our bits contain 8% copper for the taste horses love, and to maintain a soft mouth.
